Zel Technologies in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician – Composites to join our engineering and manufacturing team. You will build high‑quality prototype and limited‑production composite components, focusing on carbon fiber fabrication, and work closely with engineers to refine processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in composite fabrication, hands‑on experience with carbon fiber lay‑up, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in composite fabrication.
• Demonstrated experience with hand lay‑up carbon fiber fabrication using custom molds.
• Strong understanding of composite manufacturing methods: wet lay‑up, vacuum bagging, prepreg processing, resin infusion.
• Experience with epoxy, vinyl ester, and polyester resin systems; knowledge of selection and application.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate prototype and low-volume production composite components using carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and other composites.
• Perform precision hand lay‑up of carbon fiber into custom molds.
• Prepare molds, tooling, and materials for fabrication including cutting, kitting, vacuum bagging, and curing operations.
• Select and apply composite resins and reinforcement materials per design requirements.
• Execute finishing operations: trimming, bonding, sanding, machining, inspection.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop and improve manufacturing processes for prototypes and production parts.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and ensure quality and safety procedures.
