Job summary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electronic components, electrical design fundamentals, and circuit behavior (required).
  • Ability to interpret schematics and Bills of Materials (required).
  • Experience with component lifecycle management or product development (preferred).
  • Familiarity with obsolescence management and alternate sourcing (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizenship or lawful status) (required).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with electrical and mechanical engineers to select components meeting performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Analyze Bills of Materials to verify part accuracy, lifecycle status, and sourcing strategy.
  • Review schematics and design documentation to understand component function within circuit designs.
  • Perform component and Bill of Materials reviews to identify obsolete, non-preferred, or high-risk parts and recommend qualified alternates.
  • Maintain component records and approved alternates within internal databases.
  • Track manufacturer change notices and end-of-life risks and support mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to prevent production or sustainment disruptions.
  • Support component testing, evaluation, and technical impact assessments for substitutions.
  • Assist with export control and tariff classifications for electronic components.
  • Contribute to process improvements, including automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
