Job summary

Maverick Group US LLC in Minnesota is seeking a technical, hands-on leader to own the CNC turning department, overseeing turning centers, tooling, programming, and shop-floor performance.

You will spend roughly 20-30% on machines and the rest on programming, leadership, troubleshooting, and planning, driving efficiency, quality, profitability, and throughput. This role requires on-site presence and collaboration with leadership to sustain ISO 9001 readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC turning experience with strong lathe skills.
• Strong CAM programming experience; GibbsCAM preferred.
• Able to program and set up a part independently and support others.
• Tight-tolerance machining with aerospace-style profiles.
• GD&T knowledge and print interpretation.
• Strong inspection skills with standard hand tools.
• Decisive, solution-focused leadership and collaboration.
• Stable work history showing long-term commitment; on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Walk the department each morning to review output and flag delays.
• Identify performance issues and implement quick solutions.
• Prioritize upcoming jobs and assign them to the right machines.
• Check, order, and prepare tooling.
• Program, set up, and troubleshoot parts; support others.
• Lead machinists and setup personnel; train new staff.
• Communicate department status to leadership.
• Support ISO 9001 quality initiatives.
