Job summary

Air Industries Machining Corp. in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a hands‑on CNC Programmer to join our aerospace manufacturing team.

You will own the development of complete, production‑ready CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5‑axis machining centers, including horizontal machines. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and machinists to optimize tooling, workholding, prove‑out, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Ability to independently develop complex, multi-axis CNC programs.
• Experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Experience with horizontal machining centers.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete CNC programs for complex, tight‑tolerance components using 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Own CNC programs from development through prove‑out and production.
• Develop machining strategies and sequencing with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and other parameters.
• Collaborate on setup strategies, tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
• Assist in development of fixtures and workholding.
• Create and maintain 3D models, toolpaths, and manufacturing information.
• Verify programs and toolpaths for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Support setup and first-piece prove‑out on the floor.
• Modify programs based on prove‑out results.
• Improve programs to enhance quality, reliability, tool life, productivity, and cycle time.
• Program complex components including forgings, castings, structural components, thin‑wall parts.
