Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense, Manchester, CT, seeks an experienced NC Programmer to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis aerospace machining. You will work with CAD/CAM tools and collaborate with production to meet customer requirements.

The role requires 10+ years in multi-axis aerospace programming, NX 8.5 or newer, and Vericut proficiency, with strong teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ten or more years direct experience in multi-axis programming of aerospace machining operations and materials.
• CG Tech Vericut experience required.
• 3D modeling sketcher, assemblies, lathe, and drafting capabilities in Siemens PLM (NX 8.5) or later.
• Full multi-axis (5+) or partial (3+1) CNC machining/programming experience with lathes, milling machines, and mill/turns.
• Must be a team player and able to work closely in a shop environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Prepare computer programs to control CNC machine operations using CAD/CAM terminal.
• Prepare flow charts and sequences to complete cycles.
• Analyze engineering drawings for materials, processes, and design elements.
• Specify patterns on programming sheets for how parts are machined.
• Ensure programs meet target cycle times and customer requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
• Assist in tool design and support changes to tools and fixtures.
• Support lean activities within Engineering and across the organization.
