Job summary

Axius Group is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate high-precision machines used in aerospace components. You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, and program as needed.

You will perform first article inspections, maintain tight tolerances, and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement. The role may involve rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CNC machining experience in aerospace production, with tight tolerances.
• Experience setting up complex parts on 3–4–5 axis machines.
• Strong GD&T and blueprint reading, plus familiarity with aerospace materials.
• Proficient CNC programming and operation; familiarity with CAD/CAM tools is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and drive continuous improvement in processes.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines per engineering drawings and specs.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical docs to determine operations.
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Troubleshoot tooling/setup issues to minimize downtime and maintain tolerances.
• Adjust machine settings and offsets to sustain tight tolerances during production.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams for process improvements.
• Document setup procedures, part dimensions, and tool usage for repeatability.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep CNC machines in good working condition.
