Job summary

United Launch Alliance, LLC. is seeking an Aerospace Production Technician - CNC Machinist to join our team. You will set up and operate large 3- to 5-axis CNC equipment to manufacture precision hardware for space applications.

The role requires reading blueprints, mastering speeds and feeds, and ensuring quality through measurement tools. Candidates should have at least six years of machining experience, be able to work from multiple shifts, and support overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant machining experience.
• Experience with 3- to 5-axis machining/turning.
• Knowledge of CNC programming.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with basic machine shop measuring tools.
• Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machine cutters.
• Willingness to work one of the available shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate large 3- to 5-axis CNC Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) and CNC Gantry Milling machines for turning and milling precision aluminum ring forgings.
• Set-up tooling fixtures, indicating in large ring forgings and plates, loading CNC programs, inspecting parts, and performing deburring and wash operations.
• Validate CNC program configurations for rings and large pattern plate stock parts while maintaining blueprint specifications and tolerances.
• Work to specified tolerances and finishes to achieve blueprint specifications for large rings and skin panels.
• Determine finishing requirements and sequence of operations for deburring, wash booths, etc.
• Perform periodic maintenance on machinery to ensure proper fluid levels and cleanliness, and monitor travel of moving parts.
• Be prepared to work on multiple shifts; training occurs on first shift with flexibility for overtime and alternates.
