Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a CNC Machinist in Orangeburg, NY to set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools used to manufacture and repair aerospace components. You will read blueprints, inspect parts, and ensure precision and quality for critical aviation parts.

The role is on 3rd shift (Mon-Fri 11:00p-7:00a) with a 15% shift differential and requires training on 1st shift for 90 days before transitioning to the regular shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical work instructions.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics, machining principles, and metalworking processes.
• Experience operating CNC machining equipment.
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools to manufacture and repair aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications to perform machining operations accurately.
• Machine components to precise dimensions and tolerances using established machining methods and procedures.
• Inspect and verify finished work using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Support cross-training, continuous improvement initiatives, and other production duties as assigned.
