Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is seeking an Apprentice - CNC Machining 1st Shift in Charleston, SC. This is a first shift apprenticeship requiring at least 15 hours per week and an hourly rate of $19. This role leads to a full-time CNC machinist position upon program completion at our North Charleston facility.

Work with experienced machinists to learn to machine high-precision aerospace parts, read drawings, perform GD&T, and conduct quality checks while following safety and 5S principles.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in manufacturing/mechatronics classes or accepted into an apprenticeship program.
• Able to commit to at least 15 hours per week.
• No visa sponsorship available (CPT/OPT/STEM OPT not offered).
• Residence within 50 miles of North Charleston, SC is required.
• Access to export-controlled information; must be a U.S. person.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload CNC machines including mills and lathes.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints and specs.
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in checks.
• Perform quality checks using gauges and measurement tools.
• Follow safety processes and apply 5S in the work area.
