Job summary

Eaton's Aerospace Division is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist for the Charleston, SC facility on 2nd shift. Relocation is offered; the core hours for third shift are 3pm-11pm Monday - Friday. The rate is $26.50-$29/hour plus a $2.50 shift differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

The setup machinist will lead transitions between runs on CNC mills/lathes, set up tools, compute work offsets, input program coordinates, and verify GD&T to ensure quality parts from the work cell.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment; OR an Associate's degree or higher in machining or manufacturing related discipline.
• A minimum of one (1) years experience setting up CNC lathes and/or mills
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
• Relocation is offered. Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Charleston, SC; or be willing to reside within this region, to be considered for this role. Must currently live within the United States.

Responsibilities

• The setup machinist will lead the transition/changeover between production runs on various CNC machines such as mills and lathes then operate select machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality parts from the work cell.
• Properly set tools in machine locations required for set-up & perform part changeover including program retrieval and input
• Establish work offsets (G54, G55, etc.) manually and utilizing probing technology
• Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes
• Calculate and input axis coordinates for CNC machines up to 3 axes or use a spindle probe to determine work offsets
• Calculate and input axis coordinates X, Y, and Z or use a spindle probe to determine work offsets
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing results to make adjustments to work offsets
