Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a CMM Operator to join our precision aviation-focused team in Mountain Home, PA. You will set up and program CMMs, interpret complex drawings, and ensure first-article, in-process, and final inspections meet stringent aerospace standards.

The role emphasizes Calypso programming, meticulous data documentation, and collaboration with engineering and production to drive continuous quality improvements. First-shift schedule with occasional overtime available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on CMM programming experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CMM equipment to perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs, including Calypso and similar software platforms.
• Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Document inspection results and generate quality reports, FAIRs, and customer-required documentation.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to quality, engineering, and production teams.
• Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with established quality systems and safety procedures.
• Assist in training operators and inspectors on measurement techniques, print reading, and inspection best practices.
