Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CMM Inspector (Starship) to perform precision inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies. The role includes programming and setup of CMMs or Romer arms, ensuring conformance to ASME Y14.5 GD&T and SpaceX specifications, and supporting supplier inspection plans.

Strong documentation discipline is required. Requirements include a high school diploma and 3+ years in precision mechanical inspection with CMM/Faro experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
• 3+ years of programming and running CMM or Faro Arm experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality and inspect tolerances.
• Perform complex inspections on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
• Program and setup CMMs to achieve the desired inspections.
• Review documentation and certifications for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Inspect flight hardware at suppliers according to drawings and SpaceX specs.
• Assist in developing inspection plans at suppliers.
