Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Aerospace Engineer III - Certification Engineer to lead certification planning and liaise with regulators to ensure airworthiness for MCDA programs. You will work across a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain certification artifacts and systems that meet rigorous military and civilian standards.

The role involves collaboration with program management, SMEs, and the FAA, with opportunities to influence airworthiness pathways and ensure on-time,

Qualifications

  • Experience with airworthiness standards and MIL-HDBK-516 interpretations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and verify technical documentation for compliance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across engineers, regulators, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate certification planning activities to support military airworthiness approvals for MCDA projects.
  • Participate in design and management reviews (PDR, CDR) with technical presentations for airworthiness authorities.
  • Collaborate with program management, SMEs, the FAA, and customers to ensure certification requirements are understood and met.
  • Provide guidance on airworthiness and certification requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review compliance documentation for accuracy, completeness and regulatory adherence.
  • Develop and maintain detailed compliance artifacts to support airworthiness substantiation and milestones.
