Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation seeks a Structural Engineer III to lead design, analysis, and certification of aerospace structures. The role requires deep expertise in structural engineering, project management, and guiding cross-functional teams.

You will oversee metallic and composite structures, develop test plans, and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with other engineering domains. U.S. security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Advanced understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with CAE tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite structures.
• Oversee development and execution of structural test plans.
• Perform detailed structural analysis and identify areas for improvement.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on structural engineering practices.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural designs into overall systems.
