OpenTrain AI is seeking an Aerospace CAD Question Authoring Expert to review FreeCAD files and translate complex assembly data into clear, objective questions and accurate answers that test technical understanding. The role emphasizes precise interpretation of design features and relationships.
The position is entry-level in title but requires demonstrated expertise in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or industrial design, plus strong CAD fundamentals and hands-on multi-part assemblies.
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. OpenTrain AI is recruiting contractors for specialized projects where expert human judgment helps improve how artificial intelligence understands technical information.
AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare questions, answers, examples, and evaluations that help AI systems learn accurate concepts and produce more reliable results. In this project, aerospace and CAD expertise will help test whether an AI system can interpret detailed assemblies and technical relationships.
As an Aerospace CAD Question Authoring Expert, you will review native FreeCAD files and analyze high-fidelity, multi-part aerospace assemblies. You will turn detailed assembly information into objective, non-guessable questions and accurate answers that test technical understanding of design features, functions, and relationships between components.
The role is listed as entry level, but success depends on demonstrated expertise in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or industrial design, along with strong CAD fundamentals and hands-on experience with multi-part assemblies. Prior AI training experience is not required.
You will work from assembly data to produce clear, well-researched content grounded in the technical evidence available in each design. Your questions should require exact interpretation rather than guesswork, while your answers should be accurate, objective, and comprehensive.
The work also includes communicating through writing and occasional verbal discussions to clarify requirements, maintain technical accuracy, and improve future project workflows.
This project requires applied technical knowledge and careful interpretation of complex designs. You should be able to understand design intent, read technical drawings, and express technical conclusions in precise, concise language.
FreeCAD experience or familiarity with a comparable CAD platform is useful but not required. Experience creating educational or documentation content may also support success.
Every major AI system depends on examples prepared and reviewed by people. By translating complex aerospace CAD assemblies into reliable question-and-answer content, you will contribute specialized knowledge to the rapidly growing field of AI training while working remotely on a flexible contractor project.
