Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking an experienced draftsman/modeler to support the Naval Air Systems Command at NAS North Island, CA. The role emphasizes 2D drafting, 3D CAD modeling (CREO/SolidWorks), and BOM management within a military-grade environment.

Candidates must have 3–10 years of drafting experience, a HS Diploma, and a current Secret clearance. The position is on-site in California with competitive hourly compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the engineering product lifecycle from prototype to obsolescence.
• Ability to create, modify, and interpret 2D mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using CREO and/or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with MIL-SPEC and ASME standards.
• Experience building and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and drawing trees.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• CAD/CAM software experience is preferred.
• Current Secret clearance is required for this role.
