Job summary

SAIC is seeking a CAD Drafter to support the US Navy in North Charleston, SC. You will provide drafting support for large, complex parts and assemblies, and develop 2D drawings and TDPs using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.

The role involves coordination with the drafting lead and project engineer, adherence to military drawing standards, and occasional local travel to the customer facility for prototype mounting solutions. A high school diploma and team-oriented mindset are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher minimum.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting support to complete large complex parts, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
• Draft equipment racks, mounting kits, and subassemblies.
• Create drawings using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD for Technical Data Packages (TDP).
• Create/modify solid models and maintain configuration management of drawings.
• Adhere to Engineering Drawing Standards Guide and MIL-STD-31000.
• Utilize calipers, gage tools, tape measures for prototype fabrication.
• Coordinate with team lead and project engineer; may travel locally to customer facility.
