Sonaca North America is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to support NAVAIR FST at FRCSW NAS North Island, CA. The role requires 3–10 years of drafting/modeling experience, a HS Diploma, and the ability to produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.

Proficiency in CREO or SolidWorks, familiarity with MIL-SPEC and ASME standards, BOM management, and the ability to work independently within a team are essential. A current Secret clearance is required; base pay is $40–$45 per hour for CA residents.

Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Candidate will posses:

• Product Lifecycle: Strong understanding of the engineering product lifecycle, including prototype, design, production, sustainment, and obsolescence phases.


• 2D Drafting: Ability to create, modify, and expertly interpret 2D mechanical drawings.


• 3D CAD: Proficiency in creating and modifying 3D CAD models using CREO and/or SolidWorks.


• Standards: Working familiarity with MIL-SPEC and ASME standards.


• Documentation: Experience building and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), Parts Lists, and drawing trees.


• Soft Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills; must be a self-starter who works well independently and integrates seamlessly into a team environment.

Desired Experience: CAD/CAM software experience required.

Current Secret clearance is required.

No per diem. Work location at NAS North Island, CA area. Start date is ASAP.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Has three (3) to 10 years of experience in drafting/modeling.

BaseHourly Range: $40.00-$45.00/ hr

This base pay range is specific to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington, and any other state that may require such disclosure. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
