Job summary

SA-TECH is hiring a Mechanical Drafter II to prepare detailed drawings and computer models of mechanical devices and assemblies for DoD programs at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with drafting training and at least one year of experience.

A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required. You will perform accurate drafting, develop multiple views, and revise designs from sketches or specs, using traditional CAD methods and

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) plus trade/technical school in drafting or engineering drawing.
• Minimum of one year of drafting-related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured for driving company/work vehicles.
• Background screening will be required (SSN, driving record, criminal).

Responsibilities

• Create drawings/models with multiple views, sectional profiles, irregular curves, and intricate details.
• Use conventional drafting and CAD techniques.
• Maintain working knowledge of drafting terms and procedures.
• Perform arithmetic computations using formulas.
• Complete assignments based on general directions and verbal explanations.
• Make simple revisions to existing drawings or models.
• Produce complex revisions from sketches, models, or specifications.
