Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Avionics Design Quality Assurance. This onsite role in Melbourne, FL or Cedar Rapids IA focuses on quality-focused governance of ASIC/FPGA developments throughout lifecycle.

Applicants should have a STEM degree with 8+ years (or advanced degree with 5+), DO-254 experience, and strong HDL/verification skills to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Hands-on DO-254 (aerospace certification) or equivalent structured hardware development lifecycle experience.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or verifying ASIC/FPGA designs including requirements capture, architecture, HDL and test artifacts.
• Experience maintaining hardware lifecycle documentation (PHAC, HAD, HVVR, traceability).
• Experience with formal configuration management and change control for electronic hardware.
• Experience conducting structured peer reviews for hardware design, requirements, and verification artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive, ongoing technical and process audits to determine the quality of engineering projects using best practices.
• Analyze, identify, and promote adoption of meaningful quality metrics to find trends and systemic issues.
• Provide guidance to hardware engineering teams on process and regulatory requirements for project execution.
• Establish rapport and credibility across the organization with leadership and engineering teams.
• Foster a culture of quality in processes and products.
