Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (P5) for its Avionics FPGA/ASIC team in a remote U.S. role.

You will lead the architecture, design, verification, and integration of high-performance digital systems that include FPGAs and ASICs, guiding projects from requirements through certification and delivery. The role requires 10+ years in related fields or a related advanced degree with minimum seven years of experience, along with Do-254/DO-178 experience

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Experience with leading Video and Digital Processing in FPGA/ASIC or Software Products.
• Experience leading technical projects including customer interaction and briefing leadership.
• Experience with DO-254 or DO-178 design assurance activities (DAL B or higher).

Responsibilities

• Lead the pursuit, proposal, planning and execution of design and development projects for video and image processing devices.
• Develop project and program strategies to advance the complex hardware discipline and products.
• Ensure alignment to program, product line, and corporate goals while meeting certification requirements up to and including DO-254 DAL A.
• Communicate with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, Internal Leadership, Supply Chain, Operations, Service Centers, and Customers.
• Lead delivery of the next-generation product line processing platform, spanning boot, application, and RTOS software.
• Travel up to 10%
