Job summary

Collins Aerospace, RTX, Cedar Rapids, IA, is hiring a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (P5) for an Avionics FPGA/ASIC team. You will architect, design, verify and integrate high‑performance digital systems with FPGAs/ASICs, applying DO-254 DAL A certification and strong project leadership.

This hybrid role involves cross-functional collaboration with engineering, program management and suppliers, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead pursuit, proposal, planning and execution of design and development projects for video and image processing devices.
• Develop project and program strategies to advance the complex hardware discipline and products.
• Ensure alignment to program, product line, and corporate goals while meeting certification requirements up to and including DO-254 DAL A.
• Communicate with Engineering, Program Management, Internal Leadership, Supply Chain, Operations, Service Centers, and Customers.
• Lead delivery of the next-generation product line processing platform, spanning boot, application, and RTOS software.
• Travel up to 10%
