Job description

An established aerospace electronics manufacturer in Fort Worth is seeking an experienced Aerospace Analog Electronics Design Engineer for a hands-on electronic hardware development position.

This role is specifically focused on an engineer who has personally designed analog electronic circuitry at the schematic and component level and has experience developing electronic hardware for aerospace or aviation applications.

The ideal candidate has taken PCB-based electronic hardware through the complete development cycle—from circuit design, simulation and component selection through board bring-up, troubleshooting, aerospace qualification/certification and production.

Responsibilities
  • Design analog electronic circuits at the schematic and component level
  • Design and support digital and mixed-signal circuitry
  • Perform component selection, circuit calculations, analysis and simulation
  • Develop PCB/PWB/CCA-based electronic hardware
  • Perform schematic capture and support PCB layout activities
  • Design and troubleshoot power supplies, DC/DC converters and other power circuitry
  • Perform hardware bring-up, bench testing, debugging and failure analysis
  • Address EMI/EMC considerations throughout the hardware development process
  • Support aerospace environmental qualification and certification activities
  • Work with engineering and test teams during environmental and compliance testing
  • Troubleshoot qualification failures and implement necessary design changes
  • Support electronic designs through manufacturing and production
  • Prepare engineering documentation and participate in design reviews
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Professional electronic hardware design experience within the aerospace or aviation industry
  • Experience personally designing circuitry and creating schematics at the component level
  • Component selection and circuit analysis/simulation experience
  • Hands-on hardware bring-up, testing and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with power electronics and/or power-conversion circuitry
  • EMI/EMC design and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Altium Designer, LTspice, PSpice or comparable electronic design and simulation tools
Required Aerospace Qualification & Certification Experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting aerospace electronic hardware through qualification and certification
  • Experience with DO-160 environmental qualification and testing
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware or design issues identified during qualification testing and implementing corrective design changes
  • Working knowledge of DO-254 airborne electronic hardware development processes
  • Experience with applicable EMI/EMC requirements and testing
  • Experience developing electronic hardware within an aerospace/aviation design and compliance environment
The Background We're Looking For

This is not primarily a systems integration, wiring/interconnect, test-only or aircraft-level certification position.

We are looking for an engineer who has personally designed the electronics and can discuss circuits they have designed, component-selection decisions, schematic development, circuit analysis and simulation, board bring-up, troubleshooting, and the qualification/certification of electronic hardware for aerospace or aviation applications.

This is a 100% onsite position in Fort Worth, Texas.

U.S. citizenship or U.S. lawful permanent residency (Green Card) is required due to export-control requirements. Candidates working under OPT, CPT, H-1B or other temporary work authorization cannot be considered.
