Butler America Aerospace is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer in Fort Worth, TX, on a 12‑month contract. You will develop, test and certify PCB modules for aircraft, applying electrical theory and avionics test methods.

Proficiency in SPICE, Altium, and FPGA logic is required, with knowledge of DO-254 and related standards preferred. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of electronics engineering experience; advanced degrees or related degrees with relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degrees considered as additional experience.
• Minimum of 2 years electronics engineering experience.
• Experience with FPGAs and Verilog or VHDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, design, testing and certification documentation for PCB modules for aircraft.
• Apply electrical engineering theory and test equipment to troubleshoot avionics modules.
• Model and simulate circuits using SPICE software.
• Design PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Modify and maintain FPGA/CPLD logic designs.
• Prepare certification reports meeting authorities' requirements.
• Prepare functional test documents to verify operation of assemblies.

Pay Range: $43-60 an hour

12 month contract

Job Summary:

• Assist with the development, design, testing and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
• Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot avionics / electrical modules or systems
• Model and simulate electronic circuits using SPICE software
• Design printed circuit board layouts using Altium design software
• Modify and maintain programmable logic designs in FPGAs and CPLDs
• Prepare engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
• Prepare functional test documents to verify proper operation of electronic assemblies

Skills/Experience:

• Proficient in analog and digital circuit design
• Software programing experience with C programming language
• Desired knowledge of control systems and embedded processor design
• Design Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Verilog or VHDL
• Familiarity with the application of aerospace standards (DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461) or similar industry standards.
• At least 2 years of experience in Electronics Engineering or related field

Education:

• Bachelor's degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
• Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
