Job summary

Vantage Consulting seeks a seasoned Hardware Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and verify advanced aerospace electronic systems throughout the product lifecycle. You will craft analog, digital, and mixed-signal hardware for mission-critical applications, define requirements, and drive testing across environments.

You will create schematics, support PCB layouts in Altium, select components, and lead verification and qualification activities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electronic hardware design experience.
• Experience in aerospace/defense/high-reliability systems.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or embedded hardware.
• Familiarity with interfaces like SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, Ethernet, SpaceWire.
• Lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
• Experience supporting EMI/EMC and hardware qualification activities.

I am currently seeking a multi-skilled Hardware Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of advanced aerospace electronic systems and components. This role will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition through to production.

Duties

• Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic hardware for aerospace and mission-critical applications
• Create schematics and support PCB layout activities using Altium
• Component selection and circuit design for analog, digital, power management, and embedded systems
• Hardware integration, board bring-up, debugging, and verification across system and components
• Develop design verification and qualification test procedures
• Perform root-cause analysis and component-level troubleshooting of hardware issues
• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team
• Create technical documentation, design reviews, and technical requirements
• Participate in environmental and qualification testing activities including vibration, thermal, shock, and EMI/EMC testing
• 7+ years of electronic hardware design experience
• Experience developing aerospace, defense, avionics, satellite, space, or other high-reliability electronic systems
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or embedded hardware
• Familiarity with communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, Ethernet, or SpaceWire
• Laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other test equipment
• Experience supporting EMI/EMC compliance and hardware qualification activities
