Job summary

Intuitive Machines, a leading space systems company in Houston, seeks an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to optimize EOS M290 DMLS and other AM systems. You will bridge design, materials science, and production to deliver flight‑critical parts, integrating DfAM, process development, and data‑driven improvements.

You will collaborate with design, quality, and production teams, develop inspection and acceptance criteria, and advance lightweighting and cost-reduction efforts while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials, manufacturing or aerospace engineering; master's preferred.
• 3–7 years in additive manufacturing or advanced manufacturing, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Strong knowledge of DfAM, topology optimization, and lightweighting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and systems engineers to identify AM-suitable parts and improve manufacturability.
• Apply DfAM to reduce post-processing and improve efficiency.
• Prepare 3D CAD models for printing, including orientation and build parameter setup.
• Develop AM process parameters for polymers and metals; validate with simulations and tests.
• Troubleshoot print failures, analyze data, and drive process improvements.
• Operate and maintain AM equipment (SLM, DMLS, FDM, SLA) and manage printer utilization.
• Develop inspection plans and ensure conformance to quality standards and traceability.
