Job summary

Intuitive Machines, LLC, based in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Additive Manufacturing Engineer to optimize EOS M290 DMLS processes and bridge design, materials science, and production. The role requires hands-on operation, process development, and collaboration with design and quality teams to deliver flight-critical parts.

The candidate will advance DfAM, lead process characterization, and participate in qualification activities for AM parts used in space missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3–7 years in additive manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• Proficient in DfAM principles, topology optimization, and lightweighting.
• Hands-on experience with metal and polymer AM systems (SLM, DMLS, EBM, FDM, SLA).
• Strong understanding of material properties, metallurgy, and post-processing methods.
• Familiarity with quality and inspection processes (CT, CMM, NDT) and AS9100/ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and systems engineers to identify AM parts for manufacturability and performance.
• Apply DfAM principles to reduce post-processing and improve efficiency.
• Prepare 3D CAD models for printing, including orientation and build parameter setup.
• Develop and refine AM process parameters for metals and polymers.
• Run build simulations and validate settings for repeatable, high-quality parts.
• Troubleshoot print failures by analyzing data and machine performance.
• Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance of AM equipment.
• Ensure builds comply with internal quality standards and traceability.
