Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer II to help develop flight-critical actuation systems at the Tempe, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers across the development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes system requirements, modeling, verification, and validated performance, with opportunities to work on diverse aerospace programs and customer interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of Electro-mechanical Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies.
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight-critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), qualification, environmental, and functional testing efforts.
• Interface directly with aerospace customers on technical requirements, system performance, and development activities.
