Job summary

Sonaca North America in Vista, CA is seeking a CNC Programmer to support the shop floor with NC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis work, including sheet metal. The role involves creating and optimizing programs, tooling, and setup documentation to run parts across varied materials.

You will assist with updates to internal standards, collaborate with machinists, and help solve program issues. A 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience is expected, with CAD/CAM experience (MasterCAM, Catia)

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years minimum programming in CAD/CAM software or shop floor experience on similar equipment.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and part holding; proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan production of 3-axis, 5-axis and sheet metal parts.
• Create and optimize NC programs for 3 axis, 5 axis and sheet metal parts.
• Update repeat jobs to current internal standards and latest engineering revision.
• Assist CNC and sheet metal machine operators when program problems arise.
• Assist with tool and method tests, setup sheets and production aids.
