Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam in Carrizo Springs, TX is seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our air transport team. You will provide advanced life support, perform prehospital and intra-hospital care, and ensure accurate patient care documentation on each flight.

The role requires EMT-P certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and FP-C within 24 months. Expect collaboration with a professional crew, adherence to safety standards, and flexible scheduling to cover shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until handoff to the receiving facility.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS partners, hospitals, and the public.
• Act as a medical flight team member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot support when needed.
• Adhere to safety standards to ensure safety of self, crew, patient, and equipment.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as directed.
