Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking an Aerial Lift Trimmer in Knoxville, TN. The role involves trimming, pruning, and removing trees with bucket truck support, following strict safety practices, and supporting storm restoration efforts as needed.

Required are a High School diploma (or equivalent) and experience with knots, rigging, and tree identification; willingness to travel for storm work and obtain first-aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of knots, ropes and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Must be able to identify tree species.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and operating procedures near electrical conductors and aerial techniques.
• Must be able to work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying and adverse weather conditions.
• Must possess physical strength and agility, good balance and depth perception.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
• Must be able to administer emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and first aid
• Must be able to wear PPE
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce rules.
• Prepare truck and materials for each day.
• Perform professional tree maintenance as directed.
• Clear and trim trees away from utility lines; remove branches.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Maintain tools and equipment used daily.
• Observe and improve climbing and tree maintenance skills.
• Assist crew members in daily activities.
• Safeguard coworkers and public from hazards; maintain clean work area.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
