Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services in Johnson City, TN seek an Aerial Lift Trimmer to perform pruning, removal, and maintenance from a bucket truck or similar equipment, following safety rules and professional standards.

The position requires climbing, lifting, and working at height, knowledge of knots and rigging, ability to identify tree species near power lines, and willingness to travel for storm restoration work; a HS diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Working knowledge of knots, ropes and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Identify tree species near electrical hazards and emergency aloft procedures.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules on site.
• Prepare truck and materials daily under directions.
• Perform professional tree maintenance as directed.
• Clear and trim trees away from utility lines; remove branches.
• Clean up and dispose of debris after work.
• Maintain and track tools and equipment used daily.
• Observe climbing and tree maintenance skills to improve proficiency.
• Assist crew members in daily activities as needed.
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards and communicate with co-workers.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
