Job summary

Air Methods in Wallkill, NY seeks a seasoned EMS professional to provide pre-hospital advanced life support as part of the clinical flight crew. You will participate in rapid, high-stakes transports, maintain documentation, and uphold strict safety standards in aviation-enabled medical care.

The role emphasizes ongoing education, competency maintenance, and collaboration with Medical Directors and base supervisors to deliver top-tier patient care during missions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least three years’ related experience and/or training.
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three years’ recent experience in a busy 911 system.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital advanced life support from initial contact to patient care transfer; maintain thorough patient care documentation.
• Practice within defined scope of practice as established by state regulations and Air Methods CBS; maintain competency through ongoing education and clinical experiences.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training; attend a minimum of six educational programs annually.
• Knowledgeable in equipment use and routine maintenance; report equipment failures and coordinate repairs; keep aircraft stocked for patient care.
• Participate in patient follow-up, institution communication, and outreach education activities.
• Attend pre-mission briefings/debriefings and assist with liftoff checklists; ensure safety of self, crew, patient, and equipment.
