Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam, part of the Global Medical Response family, seeks a Rotor-Wing Strike Team Pilot to support open shifts and assist with start-up and standardization of new bases. The role requires high standards of safety and regulatory compliance, including Part 135 operations and related manuals.

Qualified candidates will have Rotorcraft FAA Commercial certification, helicopter instrument rating, Class II medical, and substantial flight hours.

Qualifications

  • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate is required.
  • Helicopter instrument rating with current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum flight hour requirements listed in job posting.

Responsibilities

  • Create pilot information guides including location, frequencies, and procedures.
  • Conduct local area orientation as required.
  • Ensure flight operations comply with regulations and manuals.
  • Perform preflight checks and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Operate aircraft safely with emphasis on rotorcraft manuals and weather awareness.
  • Maintain neat, presentable crew quarters and hangar areas.
  • Submit paperwork timely and assist with other duties as assigned.

Pilot Incentives:
  • Salary range $102,073 - $107,399 including 15% Geo Modifier
  • $22,750K Annual stipend
  • $15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility
  • Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

JOB SUMMARY

The Rotor-Wing Strike Team Pilot assists with coverage of open shifts as needed at assigned bases and provides assistance with the start-up and standardization of new bases. They are responsible for all operations involving company aircraft is in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual and all state or municipal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
  • Conducts local area orientation as required.
  • Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
  • Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
  • Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
  • Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
  • Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
  • Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
  • Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
  • Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
  • Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
MinimumRequirements
  • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
  • Helicopter instrument rating
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
  • 1,500 Helicopter Hours
  • 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
  • 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours
  • 100 hours night unaided, or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided
  • 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
  • 230 pound weight limit with flight gear
  • 1 year experience with any GMR Air company – preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • EC135 Aircraft Experience
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent or Higher
