Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time Advocate in Westbrook, Maine to mentor and advocate for youth aged 14-21. The role emphasizes direct advocacy, community engagement, and serving families with a wraparound approach.

The position offers flexible hours, mileage reimbursement, and $21 per hour. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and experience with at-risk youth and community resources.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus
  • Reliable transportation with current auto coverage and valid driver's license is a requirement.

  • The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
  • This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage ($0.50/mile), and activity reimbursement.

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position:

This is an hourly, part-time position providing mentorship and advocacy for youth and families throughout Westbrook.

  • The ideal candidate will be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.

  • This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage ($0.50/mile), and activity reimbursement.
Hourly Rate:

$21 per hour

Qualifications/Requirements
