Job summary

A community support organization is hiring for a part-time Advocate role to provide advocacy services to youth with developmental disabilities. The position offers flexible hours, requiring some evenings and weekends. Candidates must have a high school diploma and excellent communication skills. Experience in community work is preferred. Competitive hourly rate of $15.00 per hour along with various benefits is provided.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Position requires reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and implement direct advocacy services.

Overview

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is hiring for the Advocate role. This is a Part Time hourly, Non-Exempt position. Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part-Time positions working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors are available.

Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour

Availability: Flexible, non-traditional hours; may require some evenings and weekends.

Status: Part Time Hourly • FLSA classification: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities
  • Advocates must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
  • The primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wraparound model.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be professional, flexible, and have the ability to work independently
  • Must be available evenings and weekends
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) is a plus
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus but not required
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage
