Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time Advocate to support youth and families across Middlesex County.

The role involves initiating, organizing, planning, and implementing direct advocacy services for participants and their families, using a wrap-around, strength-based approach. Applicants should have a high school diploma, experience with at-risk youth, reliable transportation, and strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
• Basic computer skills; EHR experience is a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Flexible Schedule with non-traditional hours to include some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Middlesex County are available.

• Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
• The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families
• Proficient in basic computer skills; experience using an electronic health record system (EHR) is a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills needed.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is preferred.
• Flexible Schedule with non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekends.
