Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time Advocate to support youth and families across Delaware County. You will initiate and coordinate advocacy services, developing plans based on a strength-based, wrap-around approach to help participants reach their goals.

The role offers flexible hours, weekly pay, and evening availability. A high school diploma is required; bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • Use a strength-based approach with wrap-around model for service plans.
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.

Job description

Summary of the Position:Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Delaware County are available.

  • Advocate must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
  • This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement.

Hourly Pay Rate:$ 18-20 per hour.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance coverage is required.
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
  • Availability to work evening hours Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
