Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time hourly Advocate to serve youth and families throughout the Baltimore County Area.

The role emphasizes dependable, positive role modeling in community, school and home settings, with flexible hours and weekly pay. Primary responsibilities include initiating, organizing, planning, developing and implementing direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families, using a strength-based, wrap-around approach.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with electronic health record systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is highly preferred.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends).

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
  • Provide quality documentation, progress notes, and submit within required deadlines.

Job description

Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout the Baltimore County Area are available.

  • Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and mileage & activity reimbursement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working in the community and knowledge of community resources
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite: experience using database electronic health record systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations of staff, children, and families in a collaborative and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Provide quality documentation, progress notes, and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Positions requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is highly preferred.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule (may require evenings and weekends)
