Job summary

American Academy of Pediatrics is seeking an Advocacy Legislative Coordinator to support the Senior Vice President, Advocacy by coordinating meeting logistics, drafting correspondence, and assisting with communications for coalitions.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in communications or related field and at least one year of administrative experience, with preference for experience in legislative or child health policy. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ year of general administrative or office support experience required.
• Experience in a legislative or advocacy environment is highly desirable, especially in child health policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of meetings with legislators for AAP members.
• Prepare agendas and provide audio/visual support.
• Draft invitations and general correspondence letters.
• Support the legislative team with meetings, sign-on letters, and coalition communications.
• Proofread and copy edit advocacy letters, testimony, and reports.
