Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina (with activities in Rhode Island) seeks a Developmental Specialist Vocational to build positive relationships with individuals and help them achieve personal goals in their goal plans. Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Driver's License (USA)
• Experience working with adults with a mental health diagnosis and/or developmental disabilities; not required

Responsibilities

• Assess each person for their hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
• Protect and promote the rights of individuals receiving services; assist with advocacy and using personal advocates.
• Serve as a resource for community agencies and supports meeting identified needs or goals.
• Supervise, educate, and monitor people in work settings including community, workshops, and day supports.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
• Complete required documentation and daily progress notes.
• Assist with orientation, mentoring, and training of staff.
• Sleepover at residential settings may be required.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain required certifications.
• Follow service definitions and agency policies; comply with state/federal regulations.
• Driving and travel may be required.
