Public Lab in New Orleans, LA seeks an Advocacy Manager to empower environmental groups within the Public Lab network, bridging communities and experts to advance environmental justice. The role involves documenting processes, translating regulatory methods, and developing accessible advocacy resources.

You will build partnerships, design campaigns, and facilitate knowledge exchange across diverse groups, including on-site and remote collaboration, with travel ~25–35%.

• Knowledge and appreciation of Public Lab and its mission, with ability to communicate them effectively.
• Familiarity with peer production models of knowledge exchange.
• Commitment to equity in the spaces where Public Lab works.
• Understanding of how knowledge and expertise is built, exchanged, and collected across diverse backgrounds.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent self-organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong communication skills in written, verbal and online formats.
• Ability to work collaboratively with remote co-workers to promote positive change.
• Ability to facilitate activities among a diverse community of people from many fields.
• Ability to learn, disseminate and teach about technology with communities.
• Ability to identify and solve problems as a team member and involve others when appropriate.
• Ability to create a work environment that fosters shared goals and a cohesive community.
• Travel approximately 25-35% of the time.

Responsabilités

• Advocate for communities and individuals, collecting and amplifying the stories, tactics, and knowledge of community groups.
• Support greater autonomy for community groups in their environmental justice efforts.
• Assist with campaign design and development.
• Identify political push points and project placements.
• Create publicly available resources for environmental justice communities.
• Provide in-person and online support for communities.
• Develop documentation of projects, narratives, and advocacy strategies.
