Job summary

AspenTech is seeking an Advisory Technical Support Engineer to join the Supply Chain team, focusing on optimization technologies for production planning, scheduling, blending and optimization. You will advise customers, deliver trainings, and collaborate across functions to drive operational excellence in downstream industries.

The ideal candidate has a background in chemical engineering or optimization, strong communication skills, and a proactive, innovative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience preferred; university experience may count.
• Strong understanding of Chemical Engineering principles.
• Knowledge of chemical and manufacturing processes in refining, chemical, pharma or process industries.
• Experience with AspenTech Supply chain software such as Aspen PIMS, Aspen Petroleum Scheduler, Plant Scheduler, Multi Blend Optimization, Unified PIMS/Scheduling or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service that drives engagement and product usage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems reported by customers using AspenTech software.
• Escalate issues and drive cross-functional resolutions within AspenTech.
• Deliver intermediate/advanced level trainings based on engineering principles.
• Develop and update training materials for new releases and applications.
• Conduct pre-sales consultations to identify customer problems and articulate AspenTech solutions.
• Build strong relationships with customers and understand their business needs.
• Collaborate with other AspenTech functions to grow business opportunities.
• Act as SME in pre-release testing to improve product quality.
• Mentor teammates to enhance technical skills.
• Perform health checks on accounts, provide onsite support, deploy solutions, and author technical papers.
