L&H CPAs & Advisors, LLC, a Dallas-based professional services firm, seeks an Associate in Advisory Services to contribute across mergers and acquisitions, client accounting, and commercial real estate finance advisory.

Under the direction of a Manager or Director, you will develop financial models, perform due diligence, prepare client reporting, and participate in client meetings, with opportunities to develop a broad perspective across practice areas and to advance within Advisory

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of relevant experience in public accounting, transaction advisory services, investment banking, CRE finance, or corporate FP&A.
  • Demonstrated financial modeling proficiency, including constructing models independently.
  • Strong technical foundation in financial statements and accrual accounting with economic substance judgment.

Responsabilités

  • Develop and maintain financial models including three-statement operating models and cash flow models.
  • Prepare quality of earnings analyses, normalized EBITDA schedules, and diligence workpapers.
  • Underwrite real estate transactions and evaluate underlying assumptions.
  • Analyze historical performance and align results with business economics.
  • Administer diligence request lists and data room population; monitor items through resolution.
  • Support buy-side and sell-side due diligence procedures and document findings.
  • Assist with transaction structuring analysis including price adjustments and post-closing true-ups.
  • Prepare reporting materials presented to ownership, boards, lenders and investors.
  • Participate in client meetings, present analyses, and manage follow-up items.

The Firm

L&H CPAs & Advisors, LLC Is a Dallas-based Professional Services Firm Providing Tax And Advisory Services To Privately Held And Founder-led Companies. The Advisory Services Division Delivers Financial Leadership And Transaction Expertise Across The Following Key Practice Areas:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory. Buy-side and sell-side representation, including quality of earnings analysis, financial due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring and net proceeds modeling, data room preparation, negotiation support, and post-closing settlements.
  • Client Accounting Services and Fractional Controller & CFO Advisory. Ongoing financial leadership for companies without a full internal finance function, encompassing close oversight, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, capital planning, and strategic financial guidance.
  • Commercial Real Estate Finance Advisory. Underwriting and proforma development, financial modeling maintained across the asset lifecycle, valuation and performance monitoring, acquisition and disposition support, and institutional-quality lender and investor reporting for developers, owners, and sponsors.

Clients frequently engage the division across multiple practice areas over the life of the relationship, and the division is structured to serve them accordingly.

Position Summary

The Associate is the primary preparer of analytical work product across the division's engagements. Working under the direction of a Manager or Director, the Associate develops financial models, executes due diligence procedures, prepares client reporting, and participates directly in client meetings and working sessions. The position is distinguished by breadth. Associates are staffed across all three practice areas rather than assigned to a single vertical, and are expected to develop an informed point of view on the analyses they prepare, including the identification of issues, risks, and opportunities that warrant escalation to the engagement lead.

Principal Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Modeling
  • Develop and maintain financial models, including three-statement operating models, forecasts, commercial real estate proformas and cash flow models, transaction structures, and sensitivity and scenario analyses
  • Prepare quality of earnings analyses, normalized EBITDA schedules, net working capital and net debt analyses, and supporting diligence workpapers
  • Underwrite real estate transactions against client return criteria and evaluate the reasonableness of underlying assumptions
  • Analyze historical financial performance and assess the consistency of reported results with underlying business economics
Transaction Support
  • Administer diligence request lists and data room population, and monitor outstanding items through resolution
  • Execute buy-side and sell-side due diligence procedures and document findings to a standard suitable for reliance by counterparties, lenders, and advisors
  • Support transaction structuring analysis, including purchase price adjustments, earnout mechanics, and post-closing true-ups
Client Accounting and Controller Support
  • Support fractional controller and CFO engagements through close review, management reporting package preparation, key performance indicator and dashboard development, and budget-to-actual analysis
  • Prepare periodic reporting materials presented to ownership, boards of directors, lenders, and investors
Client Engagement
  • Participate in client meetings and working sessions, present prepared analyses, and manage resulting follow-up items
  • Communicate issues and observations to the engagement lead on a timely basis
  • Draft findings and recommendations for review and inclusion in client deliverables
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in public accounting, transaction advisory services, investment banking, commercial real estate finance, or corporate financial planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated financial modeling proficiency, including the ability to construct models independently and substantiate underlying assumptions
  • Strong technical foundation in financial statements and accrual-basis accounting, with the judgment to assess whether reported results reflect economic substance
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills appropriate for direct client interaction
  • Capacity to manage concurrent engagements and competing deadlines
Preferred
  • CPA licensure, CPA eligibility, or CFA designation, or measurable progress toward either
  • Direct experience in financial due diligence or quality of earnings engagements, commercial real estate underwriting, or outsourced controller and CFO delivery
  • Experience serving privately held or founder-led businesses, OR experience as a high performer in client-facing role in similar field.
Professional Development

Associates work directly with the Director of Advisory Services and senior practitioners across Advisory’s practice areas, developing transaction, real estate, and financial leadership experience concurrently rather than sequentially. The division maintains a defined advancement path from Associate to Manager, with progression based on demonstrated technical capability, client readiness, and review judgment.

Location and Travel

The position is expected to office in Dallas, Texas, with a hybrid work schedule (primarily in-person). Periodic travel may be required for client site visits, management meetings, and on-site diligence procedures.
