Job summary

Lilly Research Labs in Indianapolis is seeking a highly capable engineer to advance drug product manufacturing technologies, focusing on amorphous solid dispersions. You will design and scale processes from lab to commercial scale, translating scientific understanding into a robust control strategy for regulatory readiness.

You will collaborate across sites and external partners, contribute to technology transfer, and help drive innovative approaches in processing and analytical technology.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related STEM with 0–5 years pharma process development experience.
  • MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related STEM with 7+ years pharma process development experience.
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related STEM with 10+ years pharma process development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, scale up, and optimize amorphous solid dispersion manufacturing processes (spray drying, HME, coprecipitation).
  • Drive process development activities toward commercialization with robust control strategies.
  • Support technology transfer and scale-up to internal and external sites.
  • Collaborate with partners to plan development activities aligned with global CMC strategy.
  • Engage with scientific communities to solve challenges and implement new manufacturing technologies.
  • Author and review technical reports and regulatory documentation.
