Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a seasoned procurement leader to drive enterprise-wide category management strategies and sourcing initiatives. You will develop and execute sourcing programs, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, and internal stakeholders to optimize spend.

The role requires five+ years in sourcing or related fields, strong communication, and proficiency in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, or similar.
• 5+ years in sourcing, financial analysis or related field.
• Strong knowledge of project management, analytics, and modern tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• IT Sourcing and Procurement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic evaluation of category spend information and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy.
• Develops category expertise and market contacts, working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Leads internal projects and programs related to sourcing.
• Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff and leadership.

Job description

This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight Location several times per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Leads the development and execution of holistic, enterprise-wide category management strategies, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management initiatives. Develops, executes, and manages sourcing strategies using the Company's sourcing methodology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides strategic evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
• Leads internal projects/programs.
• Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff, and leadership.
• Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
• Five (5) years work experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or related field, a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
• Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills..
