Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a senior Category Manager to develop and execute enterprise-wide sourcing strategies across spend categories. You will lead category management initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and guide negotiations with internal stakeholders including Finance and Legal.

The role requires strong project management, analytical skills, and excellent communication. Work is domiciled at Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR FedEx Freight locations with regular on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
• Five (5) years work experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or related field, a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
• Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
• Leads internal projects/programs.
• Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff, and leadership.
• Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight Location several times per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Leads the development and execution of holistic, enterprise-wide category management strategies, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management initiatives. Develops, executes, and manages sourcing strategies using the Company's sourcing methodology.
