Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a seasoned Category Manager to lead enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and risk management initiatives. You will develop and execute sourcing methodologies across multiple categories while collaborating with internal stakeholders and finance teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years in sourcing or related finance fields, with strong project management and communication skills to drive results across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
• Five years of work experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or related field.
• Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Leads the development and execution of holistic, enterprise-wide category management strategies, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management initiatives. Develops, executes, and manages sourcing strategies using the Company's sourcing methodology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides strategic evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
• Leads internal projects/programs.
• Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff, and leadership.
• Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
