Job summary

KenCrest Services in Bensalem, PA seeks a dedicated Community Support Worker to provide in-home and community-based support for a individual with Autism. This part-time role offers flexible schedules and meaningful opportunities to promote health, independence, and wellness.

You will assist with ADLs, accompany to appointments, encourage self-advocacy, and help the person engage in health, fitness, and spiritual activities in daily life.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous Peer Specialist experience required.
• At least two (2) years of direct experience supporting individuals with Autism.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with behavioral and/or mental health diagnoses.
• Ability to work independently in a home and community setting without direct supervision.
• Non-smoker due to the individual’s severe sensitivity to smoke.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support in the individual’s home and community
• Assist with household management, activities of daily living (ADLs), and errands
• Provide support with attending appointments and participating in community activities
• Encourage self-advocacy, communication, and self-expression
• Support the individual in working toward their personal goals and desired outcomes
• Promote independence while providing patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement
• Support participation in health, wellness, fitness, spiritual, and community-based activities
• Serve as an advocate, companion, and trusted support person
• Provide additional support as needed to promote a safe, meaningful, and fulfilling lifestyle
