Job summary

Indiana University East invites applications for Associate Director of Advancement in Richmond, IN. This role designs and implements strategies to strengthen alumni engagement, donor cultivation, volunteer leadership, and philanthropic support for the campus.

The position collaborates with campus leadership, the IU Foundation, and the IU Alumni Association to advance priorities, develop annual giving programs, and build a sustainable donor pipeline through targeted outreach and events.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with alumni, donors, community leaders, and volunteers while managing a portfolio of prospects and donors.
• Collaborates with university leadership, faculty, staff, the IU Foundation, and the IU Alumni Association to advance priorities and create lifelong engagement pathways.
• Supports annual giving initiatives, alumni engagement programs, donor stewardship efforts, and volunteer leadership development.
• Manages an active portfolio of alumni, donors, and prospective donors through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Develops and executes annual giving strategies and targeted fundraising campaigns to increase donor participation.
• Conducts personal visits, virtual meetings, phone outreach, and written communications with prospects and donors.
• Assists in developing donor proposals, stewardship plans, and impact communications.
• Identifies and cultivates major gift prospects for future opportunities.
• Maintains donor records and activity reports in the CRM.
• Designs engagement programs that foster lifelong relationships with IU East.
• Develops pathways linking students, alumni, volunteers, and donors through engaging experiences.
• Recruits, trains, and steward alumni volunteers and event leaders.
• Coordinates activities with the IU East Board of Advisors and IU Alumni Association East Region Board.
• Plans and executes events to advance fundraising and engagement goals.
• Monitors fundraising metrics and reports on donor activity and outcomes.
• Complies with policies and assists with budget planning for advancement initiatives.
• Stays informed on trends in advancement and higher education philanthropy.
